Clubbing toenail

My 9 month old was born with the same nail on each foot curved and higher up, i pointed out to the midwife and she said its probably to do with how he was in my tummy. Pointed it out at our 8 week check up and doctor said it will probably flatten when hes walking...
Well my sons not walking but stands and it still curved and its worse than when he was little, the nail bed is thick and the nails arent joined to it and the nails curve over into skin and when i cut it bleeds, i believe he has clubbing toenails....which usually means a underlining medical issue.
What do you all think looking at pictures.
Thanks xx

  • Hi
I’m not sure but the best way to find out is to take him to a chiropodist who does small children. My little one saw one at 5 months and they were brilliant . Let me know how you get on x
  • My son has the same condition. I took him to a chiropodist and they said there was nothing they could do. He might grow out of it or he might not. He’s 20 months now and he hasn’t grown out of it so far. Did you have anymore success? x
