One year after undergoing a gastric bypass, this patient presented with a yellow tongue. The color could not be removed by scraping, and there were no other symptoms present. In this case, yellowing of the patient’s tongue was due to a vitamin deficiency. Yellowing of the tongue can also be caused by gastroesophageal reflux disease, jaundice, or the early stages of black hairy tongue.
