My recently castrated dog has dry/peeling skin on his scrotum, is this normal?

My 8 month old male whippet has been recently castrated and now 5 days later the empty scrotum and became dry and starting to peel, is this normal?

None of mine ever had dry and peeling skin but it's probably nothing serious. Has he been licking it? If it doesn't look sore I wouldn't worry tbh. If it bothers you then you could always apply a dab of moisturiser although that would probably make him lick it more.

It doesn't seem to bother him at all! Its doesn't look sore, there is no inflammation, discharge or rashes. I think I am just being one of them over protective owner, I'll keep my eye on it for the time being and see how it goes.
Thanks for the advice

I was thinking maybe its been caused by whatever sterile solution they use on the area before the procedure.I'm sure there's a medical term for it but you know what I mean
