While you may love your work bestie's fresh bob or your sister's new micro bangs, the same styles might not be the best fit for your heart-shaped face shape. Heart-shaped faces have the challenge of choosing a cut that will keep their facial features from looking disproportionate. "Heart-shaped faces have a wide point at the cheeks, a narrow chin, and a hard jawline," explains hairstylist Tashina. "Choosing a haircut that balances this shape best is key." Meet the expert Tashina is a stylist at hair care brand Bumble and bumble. We turned to the red carpet to find haircut inspiration for your next salon appointment no matter your desired hair length or texture. Here, we have the most flattering celebrity hairstyles for heart-shaped faces. 01 of 08 Wispy Bangs J. Kempin / Getty Images Love bangs? Then you'll be happy to know that fringe is a great option for heart-shaped faces. Tashina says soft, wispy bangs with movement are your best bet. "Avoid cutting face-framing layers and bangs to the widest point on the face," says Tashina. Swapping your center part for a side one is also an easy way to transform your style without losing any length. 03 of 08 Side Part and Waves Todd Williamson / Getty Images A side-part and waves bring movement around Lily Collins's face. This style also helps to balance her facial features by softening the cheekbones and jawline. 04 of 08 Long, Voluminous Waves James Devaney/GC Images/Getty Images Zendaya has a classic heart-shaped face, and her bouncy waves help accentuate her cheekbones while not drowning out her chin or forehead. 05 of 08 Pixie Cut Gotham/GC Images Have fine hair? A shorter length can help hair appear thicker. Johansson's pixie cut is longer on top with lots of movement and texture, which adds softness to the face. If you have any side-swept pieces, Tashina says to keep them around brow-length. 06 of 08 Textured Fringe David M. While they may be full, the fringe is soft with movement rather than blunt. Campbell's long length with subtle layers keeps the cut balanced. 07 of 08 Lob Michael Kovac / Getty Images The universally flattering lob — which is basically a long bob haircut — is a favorite among celebs, Olivia Culpo included. According to Tashina, "Lobs are ideal for heart-shaped faces because the length takes the emphasis off of the jawline and elongates the balance." 08 of 08 Center Part Karwai Tang / Getty Images A long, layered cut like Aniston's is flattering on heart-shaped faces because the layers don't fall at the widest part of the face. Her straight hair and center part also prove complementary by creating a lengthening effect.
