Commonly known as the Curly Spider Plant, this is a tender, herbaceous perennial grown for its lush, variegated, and twisted foliage. It features short, bright green leaves with a cream margin which are held somewhat densely in a twisted manner and are very aesthetic. Stems spread from the plant with a new plant at the end which will take root if it comes in contact with soil. It typically grows to 15 cm tall and 20 cm wide, though will colonise a larger area with time. This plant performs best when grown in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site, sheltered from both wind and frost. The Curly Spider Plant is commonly grown indoors in a container though it can be grown outdoors in frost-free areas. In these situations, it is often included in borders, planted around outdoor living areas, mass planted as a groundcover, or planted alongside a path.
