Monster 9st fish with terrifying teeth netted off coast of Scotland
STUNNED fishermen landed a 60 kilo monster catch with terrifying teeth.
The mammoth monkfish was scooped up in a net by a crew off the coast of Shetland.
As soon as fish firm boss Ed Fletcher saw it he was desperate to snap it up, and paid £228 to get it.
Ed, 59, said: “I just thought ‘wow’. She is very unusual and is a real monster from the deep.

“I’ve been in the industry for 38 years and I’ve never seen anything like it before.
“But if you spotted that in the water you’d want to get as far away from it as possible. If that munches your foot you’re done for.”
The giant monkfish could provide about 100 adult portions, worth almost £4.80 each.
Ed’s firm, Granite City Fish, has stayed open during the lockdown by making free home deliveries across Grampian.
He’s put the bizarre specimen on display at his HQ and it’s caught the attention of punters.

But he’s not fussed about cashing in on it.
He said: “Because it is so out of the ordinary I’d like to see it preserved.
“We’ve been trying to get in touch with someone at the zoology department to see if they would take it on.
“If that doesn’t work out then I’ll be happy to chop her up and make some money but I think that would be a shame.”
