Woman Gets A Painful PIMPLE On Her Nose, Later Diagnosed With A Deadly Cancer

New Delhi: Pimples are a common occurrence – many times they are related to hormones and then there are times when they are caused by exposure to pollution and dirt – but in case of 52-year-old Michelle Davis, a pimple on the nose turned out to be the sign of a deadly cancer. In April 2022, she spotted the red bump and thought it was an innocent spot till it became sore. It flared up and down until she went to see a doctor and the spot would not stop bleeding. Biopsy revealed that it was basal cell carcinoma – a common form of skin cancer.

Michelle Davis underwent surgery to cut the cancer out and had her nose skin stretched to cover the remaining area. The lady from Orewa, New Zealand revealed that she tried squeezing the alleged pimple but nothing came out. Later, however, it bled and bled for a week. She also revealed that the pimple was extremely hard. In February, she was diagnosed with cancer.

Upon diagnosis, it was revealed that she had cancer and that she would need surgery to remove the cancer. She was left with differently-shaped nostrils and scarring but was soon in recovery as doctors stretched the skin. However, getting diagnosed with skin cancer once made her more prone to developing the disease again.

What are the early symptoms of basal cell carcinoma?

This type of cancer begins in the basal cells. The basal cells produce new skin cells when the old ones die – but a cancer of these cells can be prevented by limiting exposure to the sun. 1. Scaly patches on sun-exposed areas like the face and neck
2. White or brown waxy lump on the skin
3. Flat, scaly patch with raised edges
4. Shiny, skin-coloured bump which is translucent
5. White, waxy scar-like lesions without clear borders
