Initially thought this was Marsh St. John's Wort / Hypericum elodes considering the soggy ground these were living in, but this colony of plants have square 'winged' stalks. MSJT is also more hairy, and the leaves rounded - also some of the top step leaves in these plants were not very pointed. The square 4-winged stem does it for me though. Synonymous with Hypericum quadratum, & Hypericum acutum.
